Just email and SMS for identity verification? That’s no different from other websites. I thought this was about extra-reliable identities.

Think of your Osmio ID Pair as a “starter certificate” with an Identity Reliability score of 8 on a scale of 0 to 72. Later you’ll have the opportunity to raise the score of this certificate with more extensive identity verification, bringing to bear one or more of the eight metrics of Osmio’s identity reliability score, or IDQA (identity quality assurance).

Beyond that you’ll be able to create your “Certificate Stack,” starting with your Foundational Certificate. Your Foundation Certificate works like a digital birth certificate and is used as a “breeder document” to generate any number of License Plate Certificates, which let you assert your identity without disclosing your identity (the Accountable Anonymity you’ve heard about).

Your Certificate Stack can also include a variety of other “Utility Certificates” such as Professional Licenses and non-anonymous certificates used when participating in Osmio’s optimocratic (resident participation) governance procedures.
